My English is not perfect, it's not my native language, but I will try to be as clear as possible.
Some time ago I decided to collect my own dye color chart, and it should have been definitely dye inks of one company. Decision was made between 3 of them - Hero Arts, Altenew and PTI.
As I know Hero Arts inks staine stamps very much. Altenew inks don't. But they are expensive and a bit small color varieties. And no one knows if new color will be added in future. However it's enough for start. They have 4 piece combos with perfectly combined tones of one color. It's best decision for color layering lovers :) don't need to think much over which tone to chose. You can check Yana Smakula's post to find more usefull information on Altenew inks. It's maybe the first so full and precise post on Altenew inks with almost full color chart I managed to find.
What about PTI inks, it was a total mess in reviews. Someone was very pleased with the inks, someone very critical. I looked through tons of posts but couldn't understand the pros and cons and didn't managed to find any color chart. So I've decided to give them a try. And now I can give my small feedback after using it for almost a month.
Let's start with the pros. In general I'm very excited with these inks. I bought the small cubes, they are definitely cheaper then Altenew. Nice looking, easy to hold and use. Huge color palitra and almost each month new color tone is released. Below is color chart from PTI website.
I tried them for stamping words and pictures and for blending, and in all cases inks showed themselves very nice. Also they do not stain stamps what is a huge pros. Next thing you need to pay attention PTI has reinkers for all their inks, and unfortunatly Altenew doesn't.
The only cons I've found as for now is that huge variety of colors it's nice but sometimes it's painfuly hard to choose 2-3 tones and not always they are nicely combined together. Also some colors are very similar to each other and to be honest if I had known it before my shopping I wouldn't have bought them all. It's my own color chart below, here only few colors are missing (true black, fresh snow, vintage cream, mint julep, and new one melon berry)
Nice juicy colors, but I definitely miss sky blue, bloody red and some darker green for Christmas cards. Maybe in future I will do another chart with color names but not today :)
If someone have questions I will be pleased to answer. And for now it's all, I'm back to my already cold coffee.. Have a nice day!
